DC’s second trailer for the Wonder Woman live action movie is finally here, and boy, was it worth the wait. The perfectly stunning actress Gal Gadot, who recently announced on Instagram that she’s pregnant with her second child, plays Diana of Themysicra, a young and naive Amazonian warrior goddess who joins the fight in WWI.
Gal Gadot is seen in her wonderland hometown, before she sets off to war with Chris Pine, who plays German army, Steve Trevor. It’s unknown whether his character’s role in this movie is the good or the bad guy.
This will be the first female-led comic book franchise film since Batman‘s ex-wife, Jennifer Garner played Elektra in 2005. Watch the trailer here:
She shoots arrows, uses her Bracelets of Submission to deflect bullets and has a friggin’ sword in her dress! She is also not here to take any kind of orders from Steve Trevor. In true superhero movie fashion, this trailer did not miss out on the chance to leave subtle references from Bruce Wayne.
As you can see from the screen grab, the image shows modern day scenes of Wonder Woman examining that old picture of herself and Steve Trevor in WWI – the one she went through lengths to erase from Lex Luthor‘s files in Batman v Superman.
On the desk, we can see a note with “WAYNE” printed clearly. Perhaps Bruce Wayne is the person she’s talking to in the trailer when she gives her “I used to want to save the world” speech. It’s also possible that the note could be an invitation from Mr. Batman himself, asking her out for coffee. Hmm.. we can’t wait to watch all of this unfold.
If you’ve missed the first trailer, here it is:
Wonder Woman hits theatres in June 2017.
