Something’s stirring in Hollywood and we’re not quite sure if you’re gonna like this..
Warner Bros. Studios have recently confirmed that Johnny Depp will appear in the sequel of upcoming Harry Potter spin off, Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them. Though Depp will be appearing briefly in Fantastic Beasts, which opens on 18 November, the internet is less than pleased about the studio’s casting decision.

Warner Bros. confirmed the news on Wednesday, announcing that Depp will star as Gellert Grindelwald, a villain with an especially close relationship to everyone’s favourite character, Dumbledore. Author J.K. Rowling has indicated that there would be at least 4 subsequent sequels to the Fantastic Beasts franchise.
The news of the once celebrated Hollywood actor was met with disappointment and dismay by the series’ fans, considering Depp’s recent abusive history.

Amber Heard, actress and ex-wife, filed for divorce from Depp in May this year, citing multiple instances of domestic abuse. In a sworn declaration filed while acquiring a restraining order against the actor, Heard mentions that Depp had repeatedly hit her and threw a mobile phone at her head, leaving multiple bruises on her face, during an argument at their L.A. apartment in May.
The couple officially settled their divorce in August, after further details of Depp’s violent behaviour surfaced to the media which included a video of him yelling and cursing at Heard.
The first instalment of Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them opens in cinemas this 18 November. Depp is reported to appear in a short cameo in the film, leading up to a bigger role in next year’s sequel.
