Miranda Kerr has just revealed that she fell into “a really bad depression”, following her divorce with Orlando Bloom in 2013. The Australian model spills all about the split from her husband of three years in Elle Canada‘s December 2016 issue.
“When Orlando and I separated, I actually fell into a really bad depression,” she confesses. “I never understood the depth of that feeling or the reality of that because I was naturally a very happy person.” What got her through her rock bottom, however, was learning that “every thought you have affects your reality and only you have control of your mind.”
Bloom and Kerr share a child together as a result of their 3 year marriage. Kerr is now happily engaged to Snapchat co-founder, Evan Spiegel, and has learned to balance motherhood and co-parenting with her ex-husband.
“The most important thing is that when he has his time with me, we have quality time together, and when he’s with his dad, he has quality time with him,” Kerr tells Elle Canada. “And it works out really well because I book in my photo shoots for the time he’s with his dad, and the rest of the time I just get to be a mom.” Kerr also mentions that she meditates twice a day while adding yoga and healthy eating to the mix.
Bloom and Kerr are now cooperative in co-parenting their 5-year-old son, Flynn. Bloom is now dating Katy Perry, 32, while Kerr announced her engagement to Evan Spiegel on Instagram in July.
