Zayn Malik‘s autobiography is being published today, and inside, the 23-year-old ex-One Direction singer details his rise to fame with the X Factor, his breakdown with ex-fiance Little Mix member Perrie Edwards, his decision to quit and go solo, as well as his current relationship with Gigi Hadid.
But there are some parts of Zayn’s autobiography that no one knows about, like his struggles with an eating disorder.

An extract from the book reads: “When I look back at images of myself from around November 2014, I can see how ill I was. Something I’ve never talked about in public before, but which I have come to terms with since leaving the band, is that I was suffering from an eating disorder.”
He explains, “It wasn’t as though I had any concerns about my weight or anything like that, I’d just go for days – sometimes two or three days straight – without eating anything at all. It got quite serious, although at the time I didn’t recognise it for what it was.”

In a statement, Zayn explained his reasoning for releasing the memoir, mentioning it was so his fans “can judge me on my own terms, not on what the press or anyone else says”.
The book will include Zayn’s collection of thoughts, never-before-seen pictures, notes, personal stories and inspiration. We sure hope he’s now in a much happier place.
