Voting season is here and looks like our favourite hunk Justin Timberlake is feeling the heat too. Recently, the singer has been under fire for his uploading a controversial selfie when he posted a photo of himself casting a ballot.
Little did he know, since 2105, it became illegal in Tennessee for voters to take pictures or record conversations in the sacred rooms. Violators can be slapped with a 30-day jail sentence and a $50 fine. So technically.. JT broke the law. Uh-oh!
In a now deleted Instagram post–Justin posed by the polling station with a caption that says “Hey! You! Yeah, YOU! I just flew from LA to Memphis to #rockthevote !!! No excuses, my good people!,” the singer/actor wrote in his post. “There could be early voting in your town too. If not, November 8th! Choose to have a voice!”
It seems like the multi-talented celeb is all hyped up for the election, he flew all the way from Los Angeles to his hometown in Memphis to cast an early ballot ahead of the general election happening on November 8 2016.
An official from the Shelby County D.A.’s Office has announced that the Timberlake case is “under review.”
However, despite the incident, his rep says that Justin should be commended, not prosecuted, for inspiring people to get out and vote. What do you think? 🇺🇸
