This year marks Coach’s 75th anniversary and it’s celebrating with a scrapbook style manuscript of the brand, COACH: A STORY OF NEW YORK COOL.
Designed by renowned Artistic Director, Fabien Baron, the book covers the journey of the American brand throughout the years. From hustling in a small workshop in Soho, New York with only six artisans back in 1941, to evolving into a household name in the fashion industry as of today.
In 1960s, Miles and Lilian Cahn–the brand owners–were impressed by Big Apple’s vibrant energy and gave Coach a new upgrade. The brand partnered with legendary American sportswear designer Bonnie Cashin and started to produce men’s leather goods as well as women’s handbags and other accessories. Following its success, Coach thrives as a fashion powerhouse that defined American accessories and leather goods.
In 2013, in an effort to renew Coach’s brand image, Creative Director Stuart Vevers took over and introduced a new take on the brand’s concept which embodies the modern epitome of ‘American Cool’. It features more relaxed silhouettes while maintaining Coach’s opulent image in the designs.
