It seems like Demi Lovato has said too much — so much so that she’s decided to quit the music industry. The star has had enough with the nasty backlash she’s been receiving after making some comments about Taylor Swift (again).
To quote: “I think having a song and a video about tearing Katy Perry down, that’s not women’s empowerment. We all do things that aren’t, but I have to ask myself, ‘am I content with calling myself a feminist?’ Yes, because I speak out.”
The star also remarked: “I couldn’t see anybody in any sort of squad that has a normal body. It’s kind of this false image of what people should look like. And what they should be like, and it’s not real.” After copping a load of flack from Tay’s fans on Twitter, Demi has hit back, insisting she’s free to say what she wants.
Hmm, the statements are debatable though. While we agree with the Katy Perry comment, we don’t know what to feel about the latter. Whether their ‘squadship’ is real or not, it was unnecessary for her to make those comments. And why so sour, Demi — didn’t get invited?
Poor Demi, maybe you should practice what you preach. The star who can’t stop inserting herself into other people’s drama had briefly quit social media back in June too — only to return 24 hours later.
The melancholic star is clearly known for beef with other celebs — apparently she’s the only person in this world who battles with depression and it’s okay to have a raging need to express her voice — but does she realise she’s the one bringing drama upon herself?
Try being an optimist for once Demi or seriously, just quit social media. You don’t have to exit the music industry..
