Malaysians, be warned!
The Huawei Honor 8 is here and it really is a thing of beauty with the power to match. This stunning and cutting-edge smartphone grabs attention from a mile away with its new and sleek design. The contoured 2.5D glass and unique metal back glass design reflects light beautifully from any angle.
Huawei may not be the most popular smartphone choice, but it will soon be. At the price of RM1,699, Huawei delivers power and performance just like the high-end phones do. It is a solid choice for users who want to get beast-specs on their smartphones. You don’t need to pay too much for that.
The Honor 8 gets a dual-camera set up with one sensor that shoots in monochrome while the other unit shoots in colour. Both cameras are 12MP f/2.2 shooters but unlike the P9, it doesn’t get the full Leica experience.
Like most smartphones today, it also has a fingerprint scanner at the back. It works reliably well thanks to its 4-layer fingerprint scanner that immediately recognises 3D ridges of your fingertips. The smartphone supports dual-SIMs and it also accepts microSD cards with its hybrid slot.
In addition to that, the Honor 8 gets a decent 3,000mAh battery with a fast charger that claims to give you up to 47% charge in just 30 minutes. Out of the box, it runs on Huawei’s own EMUI interface, on top of Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
The Honor 8 comes in four colours: Sapphire Blue, Sunrise Gold, Pearl White and Midnight Black.
The Pearl White and Midnight Black standard variants come with a 4GB RAM and 32GB storage space, priced at RM1,699. The premium Sapphire Blue and Sunrise Gold variants with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage space are priced at RM1,899.
