Quintessentially Spanish fused with a global influence, Tiki Taka is a new pintxos and tapas inspired restaurant opened up in Medan Damansara which serves up small plates of gastronomic delights, amongst other distinct offerings. By highlighting small bites, Tiki Taka allows patrons to sample way more options in under one seating.
What sets Tiki Taka apart is its unique concept of marrying flavours, creativity and presentation to really tantalise the tastebuds. Showcasing a modern flair on ingredients and twists on common favourites, Tiki Taka opens the mind to a whole new world of unconventional combinations and tastes.
At Tiki Taka, you’ll find pintxos, tapas, pizza and dessert as well as a weekend breakfast menu alongside a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Scroll through to learn more about all that we’ve chowed down during our recent visit to the restaurant..
Asam Boi Mojito (RM25) – The classic mojito gets an upgrade with the addition of asam boi for a refreshing yet tangy cocktail. The taste of the asam boi is intense, so we reckon it wouldn’t be everyone’s cup of tea although we loved it.
Pintxos
Salmon Crema (RM6) – The dill, cream cheese, smoked salmon, black lumpfish caviar and truffle honey come together very well. Pairing smoked salmon and cheese together with honey is uncommon, but it works.
La Bomba! (RM8) – Topped with smoked garlic aioli and parsley, the Serrano croquette, paired with the spicy tomato and red pepper sauce offers a burst of flavours and crunch.
Dabeli Tart (RM6) – Heavily Indian inspired, the Dabeli tart combines savoury and spicy masala potatoes with a sweet tart, tomatoes, celery, shallots, pomegranate and coriander. The spice balances out the sweet for a dynamic flavour.
Pata Negra con Melon (RM10) – We savoured every bite of this classic party starter and neither the iberico ham or melon overpowers the other ingredient.
Nutella Bacon (RM6) – A heavenly combo for lovers of the chocolatey hazelnut spread, the caramelised banana, Nutella and bacon are further amplified with walnut, truffle honey and blueberries.
Tapas
Quinoa Garden (RM22) – We can only assume the labour that was gone into plating this Instagram-worthy salad with butter quinoa, seasonal vegetables and passion fruit sauce. A ‘garden’ is accurate, for sure.
Shaoxing Chilli Prawn Pasta (RM20) – The pasta looks underwhelming, but it was absolutely packed with flavour from the cili padi, cherry tomatoes, kaffir lime and parmesan. The shaoxing wine prawns were fresh and succulent.
Bang! Bang! Chicken (RM13) – Shredded chicken cooked with spicy szechuan chilli marinade is stuffed into pai tee cups and topped off with sesame seeds, Japanese cucumber and spring onion.
Pizza
Margherita (RM25) – This Italian classic was done just right with tomato sauce, grilled baby tomatoes, sweet basil, buffalo’s mozzarella and parmesan.
Dessert
Churros (RM12) – To finish off our meal, we had the Spanish churros which were light and crispy, perfect for dipping into the pot of semi-sweet chocolate sauce.
There’s so much more Tiki Taka has to offer and from one seating, we only managed these few items. It’s safe to say that we’re definitely going back and more than anything, it’s a great, somewhat peaceable sanctuary away from far more busy areas like Bangsar per se. Parking is also ample, and free.
