This year, RIM graces the Christmas season and makes history with their first ever global launch of their products in Asia. The launch of two new BlackBerry smartphones, the BlackBerry Bold 9790 and the BlackBerry Curve 9380 took place in the ballroom of the plush Ritz Carlton Hotel in Jakarta, Indonesia.
The two new BlackBerry smartphones will both run on the BlackBerry® 7 OS, and it promises to offer the best hybrid experience. Why?
Because both power-packed gadgets are equipped with the fastest browser with new “Just in Time” (JIT) Java Script Complier and HTML5, as well as a voice-activated search which will heighten its existing universal search capability, coupled with built-in support for “Augmented Reality” and NFC for a faster and richer user experience.
When both BlackBerry smartphones were launched in Jakarta, it also came with the unveiling of Indonesia’s first ever “BlackBerry Lifestyle Store”.
Led by RIM’s top officials, the opening ceremony included thousands of people who patiently lined up outside the “Kelapa Gading Shopping Mall” opening day promotion of a whopping 50% discount for the first 250 customers who bought a BlackBerry smartphone or a BlackBerry Playbook.
The verdict? We hear it was pure chaos. It’s not every day that we see large crowds like these or hear news about a BlackBerry launch that has drawn such an amazing demand! The sheer amount of loyal BlackBerry fans present at “Kelapa Gading Shopping Mall” spoke for itself.
Having said that, we hear rumours from the “tech grapevine” that both the BlackBerry Bold 9790 and the BlackBerry Bold 9380 are slated to launch in good old Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia! We’re not sure of the exact date yet but we were just tossed an invite to the BlackBerry Bold 9790 and BlackBerry Curve 9380 launch party happening..sometime soon.
Guess you’ll just have to keep watching this space for more details, huh? Keep your eyes peeled!
