In 2001, she hit the silver screens as Mia Thermopolis in “The Princess Diaries”, where she played the klutzy, clueless girl who was forced to go through a “princess boot camp” after discovering her blueblood past.
She continued to make us laugh when she took on the role as Andrea Sachs in novel-turned-movie “The Devil Wears Prada”. Again, she played a similar role – klutzy, clueless, but entirely endearing.
Really, it was all these comedy-centric characters that shot her to fame and in 2008, Anne Hathaway joined beauty giant Lancôme as the face of their fragrance Magnifique. You could say that she has come a long and far way from being the girl with the big, bird nest hair in “The Princess Diairies”.
And speaking of princesses, this Christmas, Anne Hathaway was surprised with an early Christmas gift-of-a-lifetime when her boyfriend of three years, American actor and jewelry designer Adam Shulman proposed!
We’re especially happy for the “Princess Catwoman” because this must be the best news for Anne Hathaway and her loved ones following her highly publicized break-up with Raffaello Follieri in 2008 after he pled guilty to 14 counts of money laundering, conspiracy, and wire fraud. It left her devastated and humiliated:
But we’re big believers in fairytale endings and this is one Christmas that we won’t soon forget. After all, she did once say, “I am very much in love with him. Adam totally ruined my plan because I was really actually looking forward to a little alone time, and then I fell in love like a fool! I’m a romantic at heart. He’s the best!”
Can you say, best Christmas engagement ever? Congratulations, Anne Hathaway!
