In conjunction with the 5th anniversary of its Japanese dedicated precinct Tokyo Street, Pavilion Kuala Lumpur unveils the Waku Waku Japan Festival – a month-long celebration offering shoppers first-in-Malaysia experiences, comprising pop-up stores by renown Japanese shopping mall, atré, Disney Tsum Tsum and mt masking tape (washi tape).
Happening for a limited time only till 24 July 2016, patrons visiting Pavilion KL can obtain a fully authentic Japanese experience at the pop-up store of atré, showcasing over 30 never-before-seen Japanese brands diversely ranging from beauty, fashion, F&B and lifestyle right in the Centre Court, Level 2.
Lovers of the sought-after collectible plush baby Disney characters – Disney Tsum Tsum – can delight in a mini showcase until 14th August, where they can collect adorable Tsum Tsum characters, purchase licensed merchandise, take part in a Tsum Tsum photo booth contest or try their hand at the highly rated and addictive Tsum Tsum puzzle game.
Another highlight is the mt masking tape pop-up happening from 27 July to 7 August. With its distinct colours, patterns as well as textures, washi tape has long been well loved for its simplicity of use. The Spanish Steps and Centre Court of Pavilion KL will be decorated in washi tape, offering a vibrant sight to behold. Malaysia-themed limited edition washi tape made exclusively for the event will also be available for purchase.
To further extend the excitement, patrons can be rewarded with gifts and treats with RM100 spent at Tokyo Street, or RM300 spent in a single receipt at any of the specialty stores from 29 July to 2 August 2016. Spending RM500 in a single receipt at specialty stores entitles patrons to stand to win a 5D/4N holiday package to Japan with H.I.S. Travel.
The Waku Waku Japan Festival runs from now until 14 August 2016. Access Pavilion KL’s official website or Facebook page for real-time updates or other details.
