Ipoh is undoubtedly one of the most charming destinations in Malaysia that’s booming with hipster cafes and delicious food. And we Malaysians don’t seem like the only ones who have a love for the city..
Lonely Planet has listed Ipoh as the 6th best Asian destination to visit in 2016, after Hokkaido, Japan, Shanghai, China, Jeonju, South Korea, Con Dao Islands in Vietnam and Hong Kong.
It is the only Malaysian city to be listed and on the Lonely Planet website, the travel guide book publisher attributes Ipoh as “the lesser-known food capital” with a new flair due to throngs of “boutique cafes that have sprung up”.
Some of the highlights within Ipoh that were listed include Sekeping Kong Heng, Roquette, Burps & Giggles and Everyday Lifeshop, Gaharu Tea Valley, Lou Wong white chicken, Funny Mountain tau fu fah, whitewater rafting near Gopeng and Kinta Nature Park.
