Former The Voice contestant Christina Grimmie, who has more than 3 million followers on her YouTube channel, was shot at a meet and greet session after a concert in Orlando, Florida as she was signing autographs for fans. She was hospitalised, but succumbed to her injuries a while later.
The New Jersey born 22-year-old YouTube singer was scouted for The Voice in 2014 and was coached by Adam Levine. She finished 3rd on Levine’s team.
Grimmie was slated to perform at a show at The Plaza Live in Orlando, and after the concert ended at 10pm, she held a meet and greet with fans. At around 10.45pm, a gunman opened fire as she was seated at the merchandise table.
Her brother quickly tackled the assailant, and the gunman shot himself during the struggle. Authorities have yet to reveal the identity of the shooter, or his motive behind shooting Grimmie.

Earlier in 2016, Grimmie released her second EP, Side A, which consisted of four songs, with plans to later release Side B.
