Face it; we were all equally saddened when Dashboard Confessional announced that they had to cancel on their Malaysian gig due to the postponement of their entire Asian tour. Collective disappointed sighs were heard from loyal Dashboard Confessional fans (and all Chris Carrabba lovers).
But, Dashboard Confessional’s management and Livescape Asia are staying true to their words and come 22nd February 2012, a replacement tour will take place in KL Live! And now just any tour – Dashboard Confessional is making their Malaysian debut with a special solo acoustic concert.
Now, on a normal day, they are a five-piece indie rock band that delivers fantastically energetic live shows. However, in 2011, the extremely good looking Dashboard Confessional frontman, Chris Carrabba, decided to embark on a solo mission.
He has since brought his fans (like us!) a collection of acoustic versions of their songs, in various intimate gigs in venues across America and around the world:
Needless to say, Chris’ solo acoustic shows have received rave reviews from the media and fans alike. In fact, we’ve heard the Boston Phoenix claiming, “If you think Dashboard Confessional is as emo as it gets, wait until you catch Chris Carrabba solo acoustic. Alternative rock’s resident king of emotion takes the heart-on-your-sleeve sentiment to a whole new level; but we mean that in a good way.”
So, any takers for immersing your soul to the soothing and melancholic sounds of romance by Dashboard Confessional? We’re so there – to, you know, give Chris Carrabba a hug just in case it all gets too emo.
