According to Daily Mail, Prince was suffering from AIDS months before being found dead last week. The singer, a Jehovah’s Witness, had refused treatment because he believed he could be cured by prayer.

Prince was diagnosed with the crippling condition just six months before he passed away, sources told the National Enquirer. The Purple Rain singer had allegedly been preparing for his death for a while.

This could also explain the prescription painkillers found in the singer’s possession when he died.

CNN reported that the pain-killing substance was found on Prince, while the Star Tribune in Minneapolis reported that prescription pills were found at his home in suburban Minneapolis.

However, sources have all remained anonymous, which makes it difficult to confirm the validity of the claims above.
