It’s a given that we live in a world with unrealistic body ideals, and this Singaporean designer really does send a message to girls out there…
Soo Kyung Bae created a line of thigh gap jewellery to celebrate the space that remains between a woman’s thighs when she stands with her feet together. Each piece is handcrafted out of 18-karat gold that is plated over sterling silver. They range from $175 to $195 and take about 14 days to ship. On TGAP, you can find more designs for the jewellery.

If you’re planning to get yourself an item, you won’t stand a chance as the designer isn’t ACTUALLY selling these ridiculous jewellery…

Naturally, the site has been receiving angry comments, but all becomes well once people start to realise what she was really doing.

Soo wrote on the site: “By using outrageous products, I hope to bring a provocative jolt that leads us to ponder and reflect upon what we are like as a society and the absurd things we value and obsess over—as well as how this creates unnecessary pressure for women and girls.”
She hopes to see a world filled with people who would love themselves as they are. She also wants people to accept others as they are as well.
LOVE YOURSELF, EVERYONE! 😉
