M.I.A is definitely one of our biggest style crush.. At the age of 40, this beauty’s unique fashion sense is off the hook.
Which is why H&M and the Brit/Sri Lankan singer has joined forces for one of H&M’s latest global initiative World Recycle Week and will present the world a new music video as well as a global Garment Collecting activity. Throughout the period of the activity, H&M aims to collect 1,000 tonnes of unwanted or worn out clothing pieces from customers worldwide.
The initiative is part of H&M’s goal to close the loop in fashion, recycling unwanted garments to create recycled textile fibres for new products. M.I.A. has filmed an exclusive new music video for H&M highlighting the environmental impact of clothes going to landfills around the world to create awareness on the matter and will debut on April 11th at hm.com.
With simple execution, Garment Collecting at H&M can have a profound effect. Customers have been invited to bring any unwanted and worn out garments and textiles, from any brand and in any condition, to any H&M store since 2013. By doing so they ensure less garments go to landfills and, in return, will receive vouchers to use at H&M.
Don’t forget to do your part during World Recycle Week from April 18th till April 24th!
