Follow Mowgli’s Journey Through Disney’s The Jungle Book

We call BS if you say that you’ve not once heard about Disney’s The Jungle Book. If you’ve been visiting the cinema recently then we’re pretty sure you’ve come across its movie poster or trailer (that was SO good). Based on Rudyard Kipling’s stories and Disney’s classic animated film, The Jungle Book is an all-new live-action with an approach of its own.

“We embrace the mythic qualities of Kipling in the more intense tonal aspects of the film but we left room for what we remember from the ’67 film, and sought to maintain those charming Disneyesque aspects.” says director Jon Favreau.

Follow Mowgli, a man-cub who has been raised by a family of wolves, and his friends Bagheera, a stern panther as well as Baloo, a care-free bear on an epic and thrilling adventure as he finds out that he no longer belongs in the jungle when he met the furious Shere Khan that promises to eliminate any threats. Along the way of his self-discovering journey, Mowgli met interesting characters such as Kaa, a python whose seductive voice and gaze hypnotizes the man-cub, and the smooth-talking King Louie.

Neel Sethi stars as the film’s only human character, Mowgli. Sethi was selected from thousands of hopefuls who auditioned for the character in the worldwide search. The all-star cast includes Bill Murray as Baloo, Ben Kingsley as Bagheera, Idris Elba as Shere Kahn, Lupita Nyong’o as the voice of mother wolf Raksha, Scarlett Johansson as the luring Kaa, Giancarlo Esposito provides the voice of alpha male wolf Akela, and Christopher Walken lends his voice to King Louie.

The movie will be out in Malaysian cinemas on April 14th 2016 but you can watch the trailer here if you haven’t:
