Malaysians, take note!
A rare equinox phenomenon is expected to bring forth scorching heat on March 20 (Sunday).
According to the Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Datuk Wilfred Madius Tangau, the hot spell Malaysians are facing now could turn into a heatwave if the temperature exceeds 35°C for five days consecutively, or 37°C for three days in a row. The highest temperature recorded was 38.5°C in Alor Setar and Chuping (Perlis) on Thursday.
In the Klang Valley, nights will be warmer than usual. This hot and dry weather is expected to ease by the end of this month, when more rain and thunderstorms have been predicted.
We advise all of you to stay hydrated at all times by drinking lots of water to prevent dehydration.
