With forty-four submissions and after what seemed to be thousands of votes later, the trio that goes by the name ‘Hibiscus Tigers’ from University of Malaya were chosen to represent Malaysia at Red Bull’s global challenge, Can You Make It.
Lee Jia Wei (Jason), Teh Khe Sin (Kayla), and Teoh Yeong Chee (Alston), members of Hibiscus Tigers, are all filled with nothing but enthusiasm and determination to make Malaysians proud.
While each to their own unique personalities, the three aspiring dentists develop a dynamic like none other as their hunger for adventure and willingness to challenge themselves to do something outside their comfort zone pushes them to move forward.
“We are a quirky trio combination with a big heart to seek and explore various wonders the world has to offer. We are compelled by wanderlust and driven by the excitement of facing new challenges. We can’t wait to embark on this amazing adventure of a life time and show the rest of the world how we make Malaysians proud,” said the teammates.
This April 12th, the trio will join other 164 teams of students from around the globe to kick-start their Red Bull journey at one of five starting points in Europe – Barcelona, Florence, Berlin, Edinburgh, or Prague. Where is Hibiscus Tigers’ starting point? Edinburgh!
Over the course of one week, they will create their own path to at least six checkpoints where they will be tasked with body and mind challenges, before making their way to the finish line in one of the most captivating cities – Paris, the City of Lights. Checkpoints are spread across forty European destinations such as Copenhagen, London, Budapest, Geneva, Bordeaux, Venice, Madrid, and more. Along the way, teams will also need to complete as many tasks as possible from the adventure list.
Score is based on completing checkpoint challenges, marking off tasks from the adventure list, and very importantly – social following. This means Hibiscus Tigers needs your support, Malaysians.
So, be sure to catch their adventure on Red Bull TV and send support their way.
