Who needs an entire squad when you’ve got a ride-or-die who’ll never fail you? Time and time again, Amy Poehler and Tina Fey have attested that their friendship is rock solid and the two queens of comedy have appeared in countless cameos as well as collaborations together. It’s pretty insane, but these two powerful women go way back; it’s been about 22 years since they first met. Safe to say that they’re the only #friendshipgoals you need, and here are five examples why:
When Tina and Amy played Sarah Palin and Hillary Clinton in a skit on Saturday Night Live in 2008, their satirical portrayal became an overnight sensation and the two helped SNL achieve its highest rating for a season opener in seven years. With the spectacles, burgundy lipstick and an updo, Fey looked exactly like the woman she’s depicting, and Poehler just lost it in laughter, when Fey exclaimed, “All you have to do (to be president) is want it.” Gold, just gold!

Mean Girls has got to be one of our most-watched teen movies ever and of course, the two comedians were a huge part of the 2004 comedy film. The movie was ultimately written by Fey, who admitted that she was a mean girl in high school, and she also played Cady (Lindsay Lohan) and Regina’s (Rachel McAdams) high school teacher Ms. Norbury. Meanwhile, Poehler played mean girl Regina George’s ratchet (cool and not regular) mom. LOL.

As Fey and Poehler grew to become American household names in comedy, the pair also co-hosted the Golden Globe Awards repeatedly for 2013, 2014 and 2015. They set the bar so high with their jokes and puns, Fey and Poehler brought their best yet to the table as they ended their Golden Globes duties in 2015 with a bangin’ opening monologue that took light jabs at their celebrity friends and some films that were nominated that night. Everyone loved it!
Dubbed the funniest women on the planet, Fey and Poehler have also stood up for women in many occasions, shutting down feminism in the best way possible. In the photo above, Poehler wrote the perfect line for Parks and Recreation, and who could forget the time Tina Fey made sure everyone remembered that Anne Hathaway won an Oscar after that horrendous coupling with James Franco as they co-hosted the 2011 Academy Awards?

The duo recently joined forces again as the main cast of Sisters, a 2016 comedy film directed by Jason Moore that tells a story of siblings Maura (Amy Poehler) and Kate (Tina Fey) who essentially get up to no good as they find out their parents have put their childhood house up for sale. Considering all they’ve done and accomplished together, this movie is a must-watch beyond question.
PS: We’re also hosting an exclusive premiere screening of Sisters at 1 Utama on the 15th of March 2016 and we’d love for you to join us. Don’t miss out and enter our giveaway now! 😀

Tina Fey + Amy Poehler = Dream team forever. Just in case you forgot, there was also this Vanity Fair masterpiece from 2008:
