Bangsar is no stranger to posh cafes and restaurants, boasting a wide selections of cocktails, beers and great food. Now there’s a new kid on the block: say hello to SMIRK Cafe, which is just a few doors down from Home & Away.
At the grand launch that took place last week, guests were served with a creamy virgin pina colada and Electric Blue Lemonade for refreshments, and then treated to selected specials from their menu; including mushroom soup, prawn cocktail, crab salad, duck confit pasta and dark chocolate espresso mousse. The Last Polka’s ice-cream is also available here!
SMIRK owner Elizabeth David said that making her cafe stand out from competition was quite a challenge. She strived to make the place feel as homely as possible, without compromising on the interior decor. The cafe as it turns out is chic, fun and laid-back, with pictures of Marilyn Monroe gracing the walls for a nostalgic touch.
The best thing about SMIRK is that you can have breakfast, lunch, tea, dinner and supper all at the same place. They do not serve booze just yet, but it is definitely in future plans.
SMIRK is open from late morning to late night every day except Mondays. They also have a petite private room for parties.
