It’s the season where models pose with their ‘smizes’ and work the runways in hopes of becoming Asia’s Next Top Model! In Cycle 4 of AsNTM, 14 women from across Asia have been selected to undergo their transformation of a lifetime. They will be guided by gurus Cindy Bishop, Kelly Tanindo and Yu Tsai.
The contestants for Cycle 4 of Asia’s Next Top Model include Angie Watkins (Singapore), Mai Ngo (Vietnam), Tugs Saruul (Mongolia), Jessica Lam (Hong Kong), Gwen, Tawan, Alaiza and Julian (Philippines), Tuti (Malaysia), Wanysia a.k.a Maya (Thailand), May (Myanmar), Patricia and Aidilla (Indonesia), Sang In Kim (South Korea).
Representing Malaysia is Tuti, who is a top Malaysian model and is the winner for the X Top Model Search Malaysia 2012 and X Walk. Being a Malay model, netizens criticised her for her participation in AsNTM, claiming that she is tarnishing the good name of Muslims for entering a modelling competition where the contestants may be required to expose their bodies.
However, Tuti has fought back, saying, “What really separates us is not skin colour nor religion. It’s opportunity.”
Don’t miss out on the latest season of Asia’s Next Top Model, premiering 9th March at 9pm on Star World (CH711)/ Star World HD (CH 722).
