Salvatore Ferragamo has unveiled their new Autumn/Spring Collection for Women, and it’s a merry celebration of monotone fabrics being ignited by exuberant colours, colliding textures and overlapping volumes. Both garments and accessories are designed to represent something new and upbeat.
The 1920’s and 30’s art movement that inspired Creative Director Massimiliano Giornetti is given an uplift and translated into this collection. Giornetti’s collection revolves around the theme of assemblage, detailed patchwork bursting with ideas and experimentation – coupled with masterful Italian craftsmanship.
Geometric shapes are also conspicuous in the collection. From knitwear dresses to quilted satin tops, we see the zigzag being utilised in creative ways, even as a subtle finish on a white double-faced cashmere coat. It rejects the idea of perfect coordination – and that adds verve and modernity the entire collection. We also see a highly structured black- and-white striped coat given an ironic twist with mink pompoms as buttons; whimsical skateboards and spinning tops printed upon sensual silk shirts and more.
Whether you’re an aristocratic women oozing elegance and confidence, or a high-spirited, carefree girl who does not want to compromise on style, the new Ferragamo Autumn/Winter collection has something for you.
