Kylie Jenner is probably the most talked about young celeb in the world. Fans adore her sense of style and she’s proven to be a fairly good businesswomen herself as she tried to trademark her first name Kylie for advertisements and campaigns. Naturally, another famous Kylie (Minogue) has fought back.
Jenner put in an application with the US Patent and Trademark Office last year and Minogue is trying to put a stop to this by having KDB, the company that represents the Aussie singer, file “a notice of opposition” to Jenner’s application.
If the application was to be approved by the KDB, confusion will arise for both the celebrities and brands. The company also stated that Minogue has already owns trademarks for “Kylie Minogue darling”, “Lucky – the Kylie Minogue musical” and “Kylie Minogue”.
Not so long after Minogues’ filed opposition, Jenner applied for the trademark “Kylie” for entertainment purposes. Yikes! :/
