Yeap, you read that right! There’s coloured roti canai in Kepala Batas, Penang, and it has become a hit sensation amongst Malaysians and worldwide travellers.
The stall owner – Abdullah – sells about 300 to 400 pieces of roti canai daily, and people from Kuala Lumpur, Johor and Terengganu often visit his stall just for a taste.
Abdullah incorporates colour to his dough, like pink, blue, red, green, yellow, and brown. He then adds a dash of flavourings such as vanilla, strawberry, pandan, banana and chocolate. He started this business five years ago and sells roti canai for RM1 each.
Do give Abdullah’s roti canai a go if you’re ever in Penang! 🙂
