If you’ve been to the movies recently, it’s most likely that you’ve seen the trailer for Disney’s new animated movie, Zootopia. If you haven’t then you should really get to watching it. It’s hilarious, guys! My 52 year-old mother was falling off of her chair from laughing.
Most of us grew up watching Walt Disney Animation Studio’s talking-animal films like Bambi, Robin Hood, The Jungle Book and Dumbo and director of Zootopia’s Byron Howard is inspired by exactly that. “We started by asking, ‘What would a mammal metropolis look like if it were designed by animals?’ The idea was incredibly exciting to us” said Howard.
Zootopia is a city made of different animals of different cultures. There’s the Sahara Square for desert animals, Tundratown for the polar bears and moose, the hot and humid Rain Forest District, Little Rodentia for the tiniest mammals, and Bunnyburrow for the millions of bunnies. Downtown area of Zootopia is Savanna Central, a melting pot where mammals from every environment come together.
Casts include talents – Ginnifer Goodwin, Jason Bateman as well as some big names like Idris Elba, Jenny Slate, Nate Torrence, Bonni Hunt and singer Shakira (what made you think an animal city didn’t need an animal celebrity?!)!
