Macallan is one of the most sought-after whisky by those who know their stuff. Heck, we even see James Bond holding a glass of it in the movie Skyfall. This single malt scotch whisky has built quite a reputation over the decades, and recently celebrated the launch of it’s newest member, the Macallan Rare Cask.
The Macallan Rare Cask is positioned as a modern, rare and luxurious whisky, carefully crafted to epitomise complexity and depth. It’s called rare cask for a reason; check this out: this is a whisky crafted from casks so rare that they will never again be used in ANY Macallan whisky.
The launch took place at the Ruyi & Lyn, Bangsar Shopping Centre, hosted by Nadia Heng, in the presence of Edrington’s brand trainer, Keith Nair. The guests were guided through an exhibition called the Macallan Rare Cask Experience Gallery, and had the privilege to go through the process of making whisky, right from the planting of acorns to the handcrafting of each oak cask.
After that, the guests were treated to a four course whisky pairing dinner, where trainer Keith Nair walked them through the illustrations of food pairing between the cuisines and Macallan whiskies.
The Macallan Rare Cask is currently available at selected bars and restaurants at the price of RM 2000 and at hypermarkets at a retail price of RM1,600.
