Tips To Make Your Brazilian Wax Experience Bearable

I know they say that beauty is pain but nothing is more of a painful thing to go through in the name of beauty than getting a Brazilian wax. It makes your heart race and your palms sweaty, and no matter how many times you’ve gone to get your hair ripped off, you still never really get used to it.

The entire experience can be uncomfortable and nerve-racking but once you see your nether region without hair just like your prepubescent self, you’ll probably want to do it again.

So, to help you get through your waxing experience smoothly here are some tips to hold on to:

Do it first thing in the morning
Someone gave me this tip once and told me that if your body’s well rested, everything will hurt less. I thought it was total bullsh*t but gave it a try anyway. Turns out after a good night’s sleep and some healthy brekkie, my Brazilian didn’t hurt. Well, it was still uncomfortable as always but it didn’t hurt as much as it normally did.

Wear comfortable clothes
The entire experience is not exactly glamorous so don’t dress in tight and fancy clothing. Shower beforehand, wear your fave t-shirt and sweatpants, whatever it is that’s deemed comfortable. Don’t show up to your waxing appointment wearing your LBD and a thong, for goodness sake!

You can’t skip the pain
Look, I’m not going to lie, getting your Mary waxed is definitely going to hurt but I would rather get this done than go on a roller-coaster ride. Plus, you will feel so good afterwards. So, the pain is really worth it and it doesn’t even last that long, I promise.

Bring something to distract you
I don’t recommend this to everybody but I usually pop a painkiller before going for a wax to help minimize the pain and I also bring a book along with me as a distraction tool. To be honest, when you’re laying there completely bare, it’s really hard to get distracted. Whatever it is, bring something that will help you relax. The more tense you are, the more painful it will be. So, just chill.
