For Spring/Summer 2016, Japanese retailer UNIQLO takes T-shirts to vibrant new levels with upgraded silhouettes, shapes and graphics that celebrate several pop culture themes around the globe. The UT line is part of UNIQLO’s LifeWear range and this season’s line features 16 new graphic themes and more than 1,200 variations in colour and pattern.

Consisting of comfortable T-shirts, tunics, sweaters and more, UNIQLO’s new UT range highlights arts and culture via graphic content from Bruno Munari, an Italian picture book artist and designer, themes from Jimbobart by London-based James Ward, France’s Olympia Le-Tan, which is famed for clutch bags, and Sweden’s Almedalhs.

Musicians and bands who’re making an appearance in a number of the UT designs include Foo Fighters, Led Zeppelin, The Chemical Brothers, Groove Makers, Kurt Cobain and more. UNIQLO UT is of course known for its iconic characters and this include LEGO®, Miffy, BARBAPAPA, SpongeBob Squarepants, and not forgetting the MAGIC FOR ALL line that is based on Disney characters.

One new addition this season is from HAIBARA, a handmade paper dealer from Nihonbashi, Tokyo in 1806. The rest of the Japanese contribution includes content from SHODO, a series of black brush-stroked characters, and KINNIKUMAN, a manga series with a wrestling superhero, as well as additional designs for the popular SHOCHIKU KABUKI series.
