We know, we know. Everyone’s still reeling over the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show 2011. But did you know that yesterday, we witnessed another fun and cheery fashion show that was in a class of their own? Class equals quirky!
We were specially invited to the official launch of one of our favourite boutiques, Quirky Brown Cow!
The brand was concocted in 2009 as an accidental online boutique when one of the owners came back from a family vacation with a huge luggage-full of kitschy clothing. Since then, they’ve been spotted at weekend markets and fashion events.
Fact: Quirky Brown Cow won the coveted Grand Prize for the Best Malaysia’s Online Fashion Entrepreneur in 2010, organized by Malaysia’s Online Fashion Entrepreneurs’ Weekend (MOFEW).
Exactly a year later, Quirky Brown Cow takes a step further from being just a blogshop and weekend market participant by opening the doors to the very first Quirky Brown Cow boutique, located in Bangsar Baru, Kuala Lumpur.
And we were there!
The boutique embodies everything that is whimsical with its European vintage-chic inspired interior, swimming racks brimming with clothing that are meticulously and lovingly curated from around the globe, charming old English phone booths for fitting rooms, and antique cabinets to house pieces of must-have accessories.
You could say it’s a truly romantic shopping escapade.
But Quirky Brown Cow is not just all about selling clothes, bags, and accessories that are kept at affordable prices.
During their official launch yesterday, it was also announced that 10% from all sales proceed made at their boutique all throughout November will be donated to the “Furry Friends Farm” in support of the “Love Our Furry Friends” campaign. Quirky Brown Cow is not just quirky, they are also kind!
