If there’s one thing I hate doing, it’s washing my hair. No, I’m not unhygienic; I’m just lazy. It’s not that I don’t do it at all, but definitely no more than twice a week. My hair still looks good; no one complains, and it certainly doesn’t bother me.
Having said that, I’ve to admit that I got really nervous upon receiving an invitation to visit Svenson for a personalised hair and scalp analysis as well as treatments with the centre’s trichologist, Sandy Ann. I was excited, but at the same time, afraid of what I was about to hear about my scalp from a professional.
My scalp was dry and congested in certain areas according to the in-depth scalp analysis, in which a device with a camera zoomed right in on my scalp, showing me exactly how it looked like up in there. But, it wasn’t as severe as I’d pictured in my head. Also, Sandy was so hospitable and kindhearted; my experience with her was fantastic.
After the detailed consultation to understand my scalp condition, Sandy sent me in for a thorough hair and scalp treatment that was tailor-made for me. I’ve detailed each step in the process down below:
Firstly, the therapist massaged a pre-treatment cleanser onto my scalp to soften the dirt and dead skin cells laying on the scalp. She then used a steamer on my head for about 10 minutes, and proceeded to double cleanse my scalp and hair with a shampoo, followed by a conditioner.
After she wrung out the excess water and blow dried the scalp area, she performed the anti-bacterial therapy on my scalp. This unique therapy is done with a special device that uses high frequencies to decongest the scalp and reduce the risks of bacteria infections.
Next, she performed Svenson’s Oxy DH therapy on my scalp. This therapy delivers 95% of pure oxygen to the deepest layer of the hair roots to flush away the dirt, enhance blood circulation, accelerates hair growth and assist the penetration as well as absorption of other nourishing ingredients. It also helps to balance the pH levels on the scalp.
Finally, she blow dried my hair completely. My whole treatment took about 1.5 hours, and it had left my scalp feeling very clean, nourished and rejuvenated. I felt pampered, and my scalp felt super comfortable. I would never have gotten the same results at a regular hair salon.
Sandy recommended that I visit Svenson two to three times a week for the treatments, and once my scalp has improved in terms of congestion, she can then tailor other treatments to me depending on my scalp condition. Every tailor-made treatment is priced differently, and as for mine, everything costed about RM300. She also recommends getting Svenson’s home care products to complement the treatments.
My visit to Svenson has taught me not to take hair and scalp care for granted, and even though I’m lazy as heck, I’m going to try and wash my hair at least three times a week from now on. The reason for this? Your current hair care routine will take its toll on your older self; I’d love to have healthy hair on my head later in the years, please and thank you! 😉
