RTL CBS Asia Entertainment Network has secured exclusive regional pay TV broadcast rights for the 42nd People’s Choice Awards, the major awards show voted entirely by the public for favourites in movies, music, television and digital. Hosted by Jane Lynch, the awards will air live on RTL CBS Entertainment HD (HyppTV Ch616) from the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles on 7 January 2016 at 9am. Now, audiences in Asia can watch the 42nd People’s Choice Awards live, and feel the excitement together with the rest of the world!
Among the nominees for the 42nd People’s Choice Awards include:
James Corden and Stephen Colbert who are vying for “Favourite Late Night Talk Show Host,” America’s Got Talent is nominated for “Favourite Competition TV Show,” House of Cards for “Favourite Streaming Series,” Limitless and The Player for “Favourite New TV Drama” and Beauty and the Beast for “Favourite Network Sci-Fi/Fantasy TV Show.”
Actors in the running for top picks are Matthew Perry (The Odd Couple) for “Favourite Comedic TV Actor,” Lucy Liu (Elementary) for “Favourite Crime Drama TV Actress,” LL Cool J (NCIS: Los Angeles) for “Favourite Crime Drama TV Actor,” and Nick Jonas (Kingdom) for “Favourite Premium Cable TV Actor.”
The Weeknd leads the list of nominees in music with five nods, including “Favourite Male Artist” and “Favourite Album” for Beauty Behind the Madness. Madonna, who is a two-time winner, has received her seventh and eighth People’s Choice nominations, one for “Favourite Music Icon,” with Paul McCartney, Prince, Steven Tyler and Stevie Wonder, and the other for “Favourite Female Artist,” with Demi Lovato, Lana Del Rey, Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift.
