They don’t call dogs “man’s best friend” for nothing, ya know? If you have ever had a dog, you’ll know that it becomes a part of your family and a part of you. You literally want to take them places and pretty much wherever you go. But what happens when you love kayaking and there are no kayaks that are dog-friendly?
Meet David Bahnson. This 67-year-old man loves his dogs and decided that he would modify his kayak to bring his dog along whenever he went kayaking. He once noticed that Susie, his dog fit pretty easily into the baggage compartment, and when Bahnson and his wife got another dog, Ginger, they realised that something had to be done with the kayak.
“When we got Ginger, I just put in another hole” Bahnson told Dodo. “It’s like a triple kayak, only there isn’t enough room for the paddlers to put their feet — but it’s perfect for a dog… They never hopped out into the water, actually.”
