In his latest song, “Drowning Shadows” Sam Smith proves to us once more that he is the king of feels. The British singer appeared on Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 Radio show on Monday, November 2nd to premier his very dark ballad, which he says was written before his smash hit, “Stay With Me.”
If you’re familiar with any of Smith’s work, you’ll know that most of them are pretty emo, if not all. But when asked about the song, the crooner described the song to be “the saddest song I’ve ever written and probably the least radio-friendly song I’ve ever written.”
This new song is set to feature in the deluxe edition of his 2014 debut album, In The Lonely Hour, which is slated to be available on November 6th 2016.
