Balmain x H&M have just come out with their lookbook for their new collaborative menswear and womenswear collections. Both collections have six key pieces each.
For the womenswear collection, Balmain x H&M have chosen to go for tailoring that ultimately sums up Balmain’s silhouette, for example a fitted velvet blazer with powerful shoulder pads. Fabrics like satin and velvet have also been used to bring in femininity. To add some power and depth to the collection, graphic elements such as black and white wide vertical stripes are used. The accessories for the line include high-waisted belts, rope sandals and thigh-high boots as well as drop earrings and crystal-embellished pochettes. The collection also comes with a Balmain x H&M Fragrance to celebrate the collection. The fragrance has tope notes of tonic bean and white jasmine petals with a woody heart of blood woods and cedar Texas. The fragrance will be available from 3 December in selected U.S and Europe stores.
The menswear collection has trends of street, sports and hip hop style throughout with cropped black velvet jackets embroidered with rich pattern of black rope and black metallic thread and hand-embroidered leather jackets. Outerwear is particularly strong in this collection with tailored khaki wool double-breasted coats and washed out leather jackets in black or red. The menswear collection also includes sportswear influence with black hoodies and dropped crotch knitted track pants. Accessories in this collection include boots, hi-top sneakers, belts and more. The collection just like the womenswear collection also comes with a fragrance to celebrate the collaboration.
Products will be available in stores and online on 5th November 2015.
