Ladies, when you’re in the shower today, can you promise to carry out a simple breast self-check on yourself? This can help women detect breast cancer early and it is the most convenient time to do a breast self-check. Breast cancer is the second most common cancer in the world and knowing that early detection improves a patient’s rate of survival, we have to beat it!
Here to encourage women to make this important commitment, Shokubutsu, the leading shower foam brand in Malaysia, has spearheaded a pro-active campaign, Pledge-To-Self-Check During Shower with the support of the National Cancer Society Malaysia (NCSM).
This campaign is not only about encouraging women to pledge for their own wellbeing, but also for the sake of their loved ones as family members are deeply affected alongside the patient.
Join the Shokubutsu Pledge-To-Self-Check During Shower campaign! With every bottle sold during the campaign, Shokubutsu with contribute RM0.10 to NCSM for each pledge (one bottle = one pledge). Shokubutsu aims to raise RM25,000 through 250,000 pledges.
To support this campaign, Shokubutsu will organise nationwide roadshows, in-store promotions and social media activation to educate women with the step-by-step guide to do a breast self-check during shower. Shokubutsu has also designed a special application on Shokubutsu Malaysia’s Facebook page for women to upload and share their pledges with their friends. They will also receive a Free 3D Mammogram with consultation voucher when they buy a Thin Prep (Pap Smear) at NCSM Cancer and Health Screening Clinic.
Just take five minutes of your time and do your breast self-checks every month. Soon, it’ll be a habit and this could potentially save your life. Shokubutsu wants women to also realise that the breast self-checks is only one of the more helpful self-initiative steps that enable early detection and women, especially aged 40 and above, are encouraged to perform a Mammogram scanning every 1-2 years as their risk of getting breast cancer is higher.
The Shokubutsu Pledge-To-Self-Check During Shower campaign will run from 1 October until 30 November 2015. For more updates, log on to Shokubutsu Facebook page.
