Swedish brand H&M has recently joined major fashion brands like Oscar de la Renta and DKNY in supporting Muslim customers. Hijab is an Islamic cultural choice for Muslim women to express modesty through clothing. However when it comes to fashion, women in hijabs aren’t given enough attention.
But, this is a sign of how fashion has changed! In H&M’s latest campaign ad Close the Loop, H&M features models from all walks of life. One model in particular is Mariah Idrissi, a Londoner of Moroccan and Pakistani descent. Many are praising her for her brief appearance in a hijab. Blessed with over 11, 000 followers, the Muslim model joins the fast-fashion brand in the efforts to encourage customers to recycle their clothes.
