In his latest TV series, Jamie’s Super Food, the renowned 40-year-old British chef travels to places like Japan, Greece and Costa Rica to find diets that can help us live a longer life. Normal everyday ingredients like eggs, fresh fruit and garlic are amongst the 14 superfoods that can help you live up to 100.
“It’s not about goji berries and green drinks. It’s about cooking smart with simple foods… They’re all using humble ingredients to make some of the simplest and tastiest dishes I’ve ever tasted,” said Jamie, in the program.
Other ways to live a longer life is by decreasing meat intake, replenish your body with plenty of water and of course, having bigger breakfasts.
“When I’ve gone around the world to see the people that live the longest and most productive life, they all have a good breakfast,”
According to Mariette Abrahams of the British Dietetic Association genetics also plays “an important role in how long people will live.”
