Your favourite New Girl just got a whole lot newer.
It was just announced that Megan Fox will be replacing Zooey Deschanel on the fifth season of the sitcom, while Deschanel takes a break for maternity leave. Fox will play Reagan, a pharmaceutical rep who sublets Jess’ room while she’s out on jury duty.
Many Zooey Deschanel fans are unhappy with the switch, but New Girl creator Liz Meriwether thinks Fox could not be more perfect for the role.
She said, “It’s insane to me that such a gorgeous person can be so funny, but I guess we just all have to accept it.”
“We had Megan in mind when we wrote this part – she’s the perfect person to come in and shake these guys up.” Fox’s character will be unveiled in episode six. What do you think of the temporary switch?
