BANDI, an eco-friendly and professional nail care brand from Korea, was recently made available in the Klang Valley. Besides being able to purchase products by the brand as well as experiencing its manicure and pedicure services, BANDI is also well known for its Switual Hand & Foot Spa that is only offered at a handful of nail salons here. I was recently invited to try out the Switual Hand and Foot Spa by BANDI, so let me share my thoughts with you.
Switual Hand Spa
Enriched with organic botanical extracts from Swiss herbs, this luxurious treatment gives the skin a refreshing drink of nourishment and soothes dry, cracked or chapped hands effectively.
After cleaning the hands with anti-bacterial spray, the Gel Gommage, which is essentially an exfoliating scrub, is rubbed onto the hands to gently remove dead skin cells while boosting the absorption of oil and water. Then, the Recovery Solution is applied to help relieve tension, boost blood circulation and rejuvenate the skin.
To activate the nourishing ingredients, my hands were wrapped in the Nutro Vital Mask, which is a 3D hand mask containing pumpkin enzymes that helps to smoothen, hydrate and brighten the skin. After about 10 minutes, the therapist removed the mask and massaged my hands with the Refining Massage Cream.
Finally, the Water Drop shield is applied to encourage the penetration of the nourishment and create a moisture protection film around the skin before the therapist proceeded with a regular manicure. I chose a pastel blue nail lacquer in the shade F403 – Blue Mousse.
Switual Foot Spa
For the feet, BANDI’s Switual Foot Spa soothes, smoothens and moisturises the stubborn skin around the feet. The products under this line contains the Blue Button flower that helps to break down calluses, and Angelica, that provides ample hydration for the skin with a natural, refreshing scent.
To soften the calluses, the Tonic Booster is sprayed onto the feet before being wrapped up in cling film for maximum effect. Next, the Advanced Exfoliator, which is a mineral scrub containing walnut shells, eucalyptus and herbal ingredients, is used to gently scrub off the dead skin and give the feet a refreshing feeling.
After removing all the calluses on my feet with a callus remover, the therapist then wrapped my feet up in the 3D Foot Hydra Re-New Mask that contains beta-glucan and raspberry ginger to smooth away roughness while hydrating the skin.
Following that, the therapist massaged the quick-melt Oil Sherbet Massage balm onto my feet before sealing all the good stuff in with the Soothing Finisher and proceeding with the pedicure. My nails were damaged and dry from my previous pedicure treatment, so the therapist advised me not to put on any nail polish.
Verdict
My sensitive hands and feet easily get parched from doing mandatory everyday things like showering. Cleaning the dishes and the occasional manual washing of dirty laundry further aggravates it, so I’m constantly struggling with dry skin and nails.
I was pretty impressed with the Switual Hand Spa and Foot Spa. With just one treatment, I noticed a difference. My hands and feet looked bright and healthy. The skin was soft, smooth and was very nourished. None of the BANDI products irritated my skin, and I appreciated that as certain products can cause my skin to become red, itchy and bumpy.
I selected the pastel blue nail lacquer shade just to see how it would perform. Most pastel shades are very sheer and you’d need at least three coats sometimes to get an opaque colour. Surprisingly, the pastel nail lacquer by BANDI was highly pigmented, and with just two coats, it delivered an opacity that was true to the colour on its bottle.
As for its longevity, it lasted me a good one week. The colour stayed on well, but by the eighth day, it started chipping. To me, that’s fairly alright, considering the amount of dishwashing I do and how unladylike I am. The nail lacquer also came off easily with an acetone-free nail polish remover, and the colour did not stain my nails whatsoever.
I loved the Switual Hand and Foot Spa by BANDI. Every product used served a different purpose, and ultimately, they complement one another for the most pampering experience. The 3D masks by BANDI are unique and they are ideally shaped for the hands and feet. Even if you don’t want to get the Switual Hand and Foot Spa done at a nail salon, you can still purchase these products and pamper yourself at home.
BANDI’s Switual Hand Spa costs RM100, whereas the Switual Foot Spa costs RM150. The nail lacquers are RM53 per bottle.
