Affectionally dubbed sproutheads, people on the streets of China are sporting a new statement piece on their heads – a small plastic sprout in the form of a hair clip. When put on, it looks like an actual plant is growing out of their heads.

We don’t get it, but we are definitely fascinated by it. The hairpiece also comes in a myriad of plants, from blossoming flowers to bean sprouts.

The origin of the trend is unknown, but some media suggests that the hairpiece is inspired by a popular Chinese animated TV show, “Pleasant Goat and the Big Bad Wolf”.

Even adult men are seen wearing these unique sprouts! Would you, though?
