Collection of Style a.k.a. COS is a brand for men and women who want good quality, high-fashion design at an affordable price range. Offering reinvented classics and wardrobe essentials, the brand creates pieces that are made to last beyond the season, merging traditional methods and new techniques to form timeless and beautifully understated collections.
For Spring Summer 2017, Cos is introducing a new and fresh design, unlike any other. Using minimal, but bold designs in earthy and naval tones, Cos brings us into the summer season in an ultra-modern style by reinventing timeless classics.
For women, the two-piece gets an update this season. A cotton poplin top with a detachable apron is paired alongside a straight-leg trouser whilst a voluminous bomber cotton silk jacket with elasticated detail is accompanied by steel blue wide-leg trousers. Playful effortlessness is seen with the drawstring fisherman trouser placed next to a voluminous shirt with an updated neckline.
A soft, faded tonal palette punctuated by shades of ivory, stone and dove is inspired by James Turrell’s work ‘Within, Without’, evoking light and optical effects. Accents of steel blue, slate and sage acts as a positive nod towards natural versus industrial.
Cotton silks and finely textured fabrics takes center stage, confirming a romantic and nostalgic feel. Concave and convex method forms effortless silhouettes with the support of technical and natural fabrics. A semi-transparent nylon reinforces the idea of an airy, unpredictable state – reminiscent of a voluminous parachute.
A gold plated amorphous shape jewellery set includes a bar ring, earrings and necklace is rapidly making its way on our favourite list. A folded leather shoulder bag in dark sage in a rubberised texture also compliments the collection while the leather sneakers and sandals feature elastic fastenings.
For men, simplicity and effortlessness are integral to the variety of collection. Bathed in earthy tones of pale terracota and golden brown with accents of light stone, navy or slate blue, the colour palette ignites a nostalgic note inspired by Liddy Scheffknecht’s work of inter-playing light and shadow.
A mid-ankle cropped trouser and oversized short sleeved woven t-shirt in navy supplies an updated modern ease while a cropped light weight wool trouser is placed with a quilted cotton jacket and elongated high-twist cotton jersey top – all in light sage, where a modern take on a tailored look with drapes and volume is discreet yet distinguished.
Timeless tailoring features a micro check wool jacket in grey melange and placed with an updated dropped neck shirt in slate blue. Transparent light weight nylon and airy cottons are juxtaposed with different textured fabrics providing a technical versus natural composition. A translucent nylon lightweight bomber jacket is placed with a single pleat of airy cotton canvas cropped trousers the transparency provides a feel for ease and lightness.
For his accessories, a khaki green sandal features technical webbing contrasted with a sand nubuck leather in a one-piece lace up sneaker. Like the foldable leather bag, the key item this season is the rubberised leather backpack with a velcro fastening.
