Disney’s live-action retelling of Beauty And The Beast finally has a full trailer, and it promises everything we saw in the 1991 original, but on a far grander scale.
It’s a tale as old as time. Well, sort of. Like the previous Disney animated classics brought to life, Beauty And The Beast too has been reinterpreted to appeal to modern audiences, in which the movie aims to add more dimension to the story line and characters without changing the plots as much.

There’s hype about the movie’s updated version with a new feminist twist. Originally, Emma Watson who plays Belle and also the ambassador for U.N. Women Goodwill, had difficulties with the script. She disliked how Belle was portrayed as a weakling in the story and brainstormed with the producers on ways to make it better.
“I definitely had issues with the script at the beginning,” recalled Watson. “We tried to tweak things to make Belle more proactive and a bit more in charge of her own destiny. In the animated movie, it’s her father who is the inventor, and we actually co-opted that for Belle. We created a backstory for her, which was that she had invented a kind of washing machine, so that instead of doing laundry, she could sit and use that time to read.”
As much as we can’t wait to see the new film, we do have one question though: What’s up with the Baphomet crown on top of Beast’s head? Walt Disney’s Beauty & The Beast will hit cinemas in March 2017.
