Sofia Coppola’s The Little Mermaid live-action movie adaptation has been in the works for years, but the screenwriter, director and producer left the project in June this year due to creative differences. Thankfully, Universal has yet to give up on this dream and now, they’ve finally secured a lead actress – Chloë Grace Moretz.
The ever-talented actress cannot be more fitting for the film! The film, based off of Hans Christian Andersen’s iconic story, will have its screenplay written by Richard Curtis, who is known for his work on films like Love Actually and Bridget Jones’s Diary. Having said that, there’s still no director or release date announced.
We’re pretty sure Chloë will capture Ariel’s innocence and spunk wonderfully. What do you think? 😉
