Our dreams have finally come true!
What if we told you to drop US$200 on a 3D printer so that you’ll never have to spend money on makeup again? Well, with this mind-blowing printer, you now can.
This 3D printer lets you create any shade of makeup in your own home and it’s set to be released next year for US$200.
Called the Mink, it allows you to choose any colour you see online – whether it’s on your tablet, laptop or phone – transmit it to Photoshop, and print your own tiny tins of real lipstick, eyeshadow, creams and more. What?!
Founded by a Harvard Business School Alum, Grace Choi, this crazy invention uses the same base ingredients that are found in all cosmetics, both low and high-end.
Most makeup comes from basic subtrates and Ms. Choi sources these for the Mink so that users can create any sort of makeup.
Choi noticed that most consumers aren’t loyal to to certain makeup brands, but rather, they prioritize convenience more.
Also, most drugstores only carry limited colour selections for their products and this doesn’t cater to those who are looking to go bold. On the other hand, stores like Sephora may offer these, but with a much higher price tag.
With Mink, users can satisfy the desire for instant gratification while still having access to any color in the world at an affordable price.
We’re still squealing in shock and we NEED to get our hands on this printer!
