Lea Michele has just debuted the music video for her first solo single “Cannonball”! This is the first music video she has released from her first solo album, Louder.
The emotional video features the 27-year-old Glee star emerging from a dark place to find the light. The video begins with her sitting alone in a deserted house singing, “I was scared to death, I was losing my mind/ I couldn’t close my eyes, I was pacing all night/ I think I found the light at the end of the tunnel/ I couldn’t find the truth I was going under.”
“And now I will start living/ Today, today, today I close the door,” she sings in the song’s chorus. “I got this new beginning and I will fly/ I’ll fly like a cannonball.”
Later in the video, Michele is seen in a more revealing white dress while walking through a room filled with purple lights.
On the day of the debut, Michele took to Twitter stating:
Michele also recently said that “Cannonball” is “more than just a song for me.”
“It has helped me so much in this process personally,” she admitted. “It’s given me strength; it’s given me hope. I get upset thinking about it, it’s really inspiring.”
