Sunway Lagoon has just announced that their very own Vuvuzela, one of that the theme park’s very own Vuvuzela, the world’s largest water ride, has made it into the Malaysia Book of Records 2013 as the Biggest Water Ride in Malaysia, listed under the Building and Structure category!
The Vuvuzela is a sight to behold as it occupies 3,360-meters of the water park – it is three times the size of an Olympic standard swimming pool! From a launch tower situated eleven stories (30-meters) high, the Vuvuzela plunges you through a ride that spans 152 meters, designed to resemble riding rapids on a turbulent river, before mercilessly plummeting you into the world’s largest water funnel, 22meters in diameter which also sits 4 meters above the ground.
Present at the ceremony was Mr Abd Aziz Hamdan, Chief Executive Officer of Malaysia Book of Records and Mr Bill Holman, Consultant Director of Sunway Lagoon.
To commemorate the achievement, Sunway Lagoon launched off the Vuvuzela DARE campaign where members of the public get a chance to ‘dare’ their favourite Malaysian celebrity to plunge down the world’s largest water ride, Vuvuzela. Get ready to see which celebrity accepts the ‘dare’ all in the name of charity. The ‘daring’ celebrity will get to play host to their favourite charity home at the upcoming Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, the musical, at Sunway Lagoon in December 2013.
The multi-award winning attraction is now open daily from 10am to 6pm. Aside from Vuvuzela, the theme park’s very own Waterplexx 5D has entered the Malaysia Book of Records 2012 as the First 5D Waterplexx in Malaysia, listed under the Building and Structure category.
