Miley Cyrus is no stranger to controversy, but the latest video of her new and infectious single, Wrecking Ball proved to be more provocative than its predecessor, We Can’t Stop.
Directed by noted American fashion photographer Terry Richardson, the 4-minute video features an emotional Miley frolicking a construction site, carrying a sledgehammer and then deep-throating it in a teensy white crop top and matching tighty-whities.
However, that really isn’t the shocking part. 75 seconds in, Miley can be seen straddling a swinging demolition ball in her birthday suit. From the video, we can also gather that she enjoys sunbathing because her ta-tas are rather pale. But that’s not important.
The message in Wrecking Ball is about a partner that destroyed her. Could it be about her [possibly ex] fiancé Liam Hemsworth? Despite being a really heartfelt pop ballad, the video is filled with sexual innuendoes. The nudity, the provocative clothing, the highly sexual body language – could it be the duality of a relationship that is hardly conceptualized in music videos these days i.e. the relationship was bad, but the sex was good? Just guessing!
Why don’t you watch the video and decipher the message for yourself, and share your thoughts.
